The practice
Close to the building. Close to the decision.
Building consultancy is most useful when the person giving the advice understands both the physical evidence and the decision it must support. MGRA remains deliberately close to every instruction: the building, the documents, the people and the commercial context.
We work principally across commercial and industrial property, providing inspection, surveying, dilapidations advice, design, project services and advisory work. MGRA also accepts appointments as CDM Principal Designer and Building Regulations Principal Designer. These are separate statutory roles, explained within Principal Designer appointments.
Our size allows direct senior involvement. Our structure provides consistency. Clients receive advice that is considered, traceable and proportionate to the matter in hand.
MGRA remains director-led, bringing together trusted specialist consultants where an instruction requires additional design, modelling, cost, valuation or technical expertise. The scope and responsibility of each appointment are defined for the particular project.

Patrick founded and leads MGRA as a Chartered Building Surveyor with experience across surveying, design, project management and contract administration.
His approach is grounded in a simple principle: the value of professional advice depends not only on the conclusion, but on whether the evidence and reasoning behind it can be understood.
That principle has shaped the practice’s continuing development—from conventional reports toward clearer visual communication, structured information and better continuity between inspection, assessment and delivery.
